<p>We are pleased to announce that the next CYCLOPES practitioners&#8217; workshop will take place on<strong> 24<sup>th</sup> and 25<sup>th</sup> June 2025 in Munich, Germany</strong>, with no option for remote participation. The workshop subject is <strong>‘Wellbeing of Digital Forensic Investigators’ </strong>and will focus on the unique pressures faced by digital forensic investigators, such as exposure to distressing content, demanding workloads, urgent deadlines, and insufficient resources. We will discuss how these factors can impact the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of digital forensic investigators.</p>
<p>During the workshop, we will collaborate to determine and prioritise the future requirements and areas for innovation and development; in order to help LEAs ensure they have a sustainable and effective DF workforce dedicated to protecting vulnerable individuals. Please find attached the <a href="https://backend.cyclopes-project.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/CYCLOPES-Wellbeing-of-DF-Investigators-Workshop_PRACTITIONER-HANDBOOK.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">practitioner handbook</a> for the workshop which contains a more detailed scope. An agenda for the workshop will be shared at a later date.</p>
<p>We are now seeking <strong>LEA practitioners</strong> who can actively contribute to discussions and share insights with other practitioners from across European LEAs. To ensure diverse perspectives and enhance the workshop&#8217;s value, we invite <strong>DF practitioners </strong>as well as<strong> supervisors and managers </strong>leading DF teamsfrom our network to attend.</p>
<p>Participants will be expected to deliver <strong>a short presentation</strong> (using a pre-defined template) on their current practices and future needs. The official working language of the project is English, so participants should be able to have a working knowledge of the language in order to participate. Please note that this workshop is exclusively for LEA practitioners and is not open to commercial partners.</p>

Practitioner Workshop: Wellbeing of Digital Forensic Investigators - CYCLOPES Project

<p>We are pleased to invite you to participate in the fourth edition of the <strong>CYCLOPES Joint Live Exercise (JLE)</strong>, taking place from <strong>8–10 July 2025 at the Hague Security Delta, Netherlands.</strong></p>
<p>This year’s theme, <strong>“Enhancing Ransomware Preparedness”</strong>, focuses on strengthening investigative capabilities in response to increasingly complex ransomware threats. This unique, hands-on event brings together a select group of law enforcement professionals, cybersecurity experts, financial crime investigators, and legal specialists to collaboratively tackle a complex and realistic cybercrime scenario &#8211; from ransomware response to cryptocurrency tracing.</p>

<p>This year’s scenario will begin with a <strong>ransomware attack targeting a mid-sized logistics company</strong>. As the investigation progresses, teams will uncover links to <strong>previous large-scale cybercrime operations</strong>, introducing a <strong>cross-border dimension</strong>. Participants will engage in <strong>digital forensics, open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering, and cryptocurrency tracing</strong> <strong>activities</strong>.</p>

<p>While the scenario provides a scaffold for the event, additional challenges contributed by practitioners will be integrated into the session. We do not expect specific evidence to be built into the scenario and captured during the investigation, but any demos that relate to the scenario structure would be much appreciated!</p>

The workshop is shifting the focus from individual IoT devices to the interconnected IoT environment in Digital Forensics (DF) investigations. Building on insights from our previous workshop, this event aims to address the complex challenges and opportunities in this field, specifically for LEA practitioners.</p>

<p>During the workshop, participants will explore challenges faced in operational activities involving IoT environments, as well as seek to identify shared priorities to inform future collaborations with academia and industry for developing practical solutions. A detailed agenda and scope of the workshop will be shared in January 2025.</p>

<p>To supplement the upcoming <a href="https://sparksinthedark.net/c1b3rwall-event/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">C1b3rWall event in Spain</a>, CYCLOPES project will conduct several webinars leading up to the conference to maximise the effectiveness of the physical meeting.
